Hengoed Park

Hengoed Park

For older people who want to retain their independence and people with early to mid-stage dementia.

Hengoed Park is our residential home for older people including those with early and mid-stage dementia. Residents have access to our full range of facilities, including our library, coffee shop, gym, gardens, and nature park.

For people with dementia, our dementia floor provides familiar places to visit, reminisce and relax: there’s a post office, tea room, bus stop and a 1940s-style cwtch. Our rooms are comfortable, immaculate, and well equipped – and many have spectacular views across our nature park to the sea.

We love creating fulfilling experiences for our residents, so our coffee shop offers not just complimentary refreshments but also a programme of events, performers, and activities to bring enjoyment and variety to our residents’ lives.

We hold regular garden parties in our beautiful grounds, and residents can enjoy on-site activities such as gardening and meeting our many birds and animals. Trips to the football, to the fish and chip shop, and on vintage buses are just a few of the activities we offer on a regular basis. And with wheelchair-friendly paths and viewpoints, our nature park is a joy to explore for all our residents. We have forged excellent links with the local community, and residents benefit from visits by local students and school children.

We’re a family-run home and we look after our residents as if they are our own relatives. Their families are warmly welcomed too and are fully involved in decisions about their loved ones’ care.
