Hengoed Care proposed Retirement Village is a unique new development for older people who want to retain their independence and live their best lives in retirement. Growing older can be lonely and isolating but residents at Hengoed Retirement Village live as part of a flourishing community with spectacular views, a bowling green, a nature park and more.

We understand the power of social interaction, so our retirement village has its own village hall and co-working space for those who want to meet, socialise and enjoy activities with friends.

At the heart of the village heart is a bowling green – one of many green spaces that bring nature to the heart of this community. Residents can also enjoy gardening, stroll around the lake in our nature park and meet our on-site birds and animals including sheep, ponies, peacocks, ducks, and lovebirds. With views over Crymlyn Burrows down to the sea, this is a truly spectacular location: our residents love to sit on the benches and take in their surroundings.

Our one and two-bedroom retirement village apartments have verandas at the rear where residents can meet and chat, while the village store provides an important focal point for socialising as well as for shopping.

Hengoed Care Retirement Village is thoughtfully designed, with a focus on sustainability: the homes are energy efficient and benefit from solar power – but as well as being practical, they have plenty of charm and character, with green oak timber porches and bay windows to make the most of the lovely views.

Living at Hengoed Care Retirement Village provides comfort, support, and days full of things to do and people to meet.

When Arnold came to you in January, I was told he had about two weeks to live. Because of YOUR care, he lived until May. For a man who refused to eat at home, it was wonderful to see him look forward to his lunch and tea, that he had eaten breakfast and eaten dinners always followed by ice cream. All these things add up to an enormous gift that you all, as a care home gave to Arnold in the last few months of his life. That is exactly how I wish to describe it- a gift- the very best gift he could ever have received: a life that was lives, a hope for tomorrow and the tender hand of care when he needed it.

I have nothing but high esteem for all the work the staff at Hengoed Care do for my father. This includes the grounds men, maintenance, cleaners, care assistants, nursing staff and management team. The care they provide shows such a homely and friendly environment which I would fully recommend to anyone.

Hengoed is a first-class place, spotlessly clean with outstanding staff. We are all very well looked after, if you ask for anything the staff will do it straight away. The food is exceptional, and the staff are caring and professional, providing the best care.
