Sometimes an older person is not ready for full-time care but needs a break – perhaps to recover from an operation or illness, or to give their regular carers and family a rest or a holiday.
Respite care at Hengoed Care provides all the support and facilities enjoyed by our full-time residents, which includes nursing, residential and dementia care.
Respite care residents are welcomed as part of the Hengoed Care family, and our team spend time understanding their needs and wishes and drawing up a personalised care plan for each stay. No two residents are alike, and we tailor our provision accordingly.
For residents with dementia, our dedicated dementia floor provides stimulation, interest, and the comfort of familiar settings: a 1940s-themed cwtch where favourite songs play on the radiogram; a Post Office, a bus stop, and a tea-room.
